PINC Program

The PINC Cancer Rehab Program has been specifically developed to maximise recovery, regain physical and emotional strength and to improve body confidence and control for women diagnosed with cancer. The Program is delivered by our certified PINC Cancer Physio - Lea, and has been designed to offer support and guidance through every stage of treatment and recovery.

What to expect in the PINC Program

At EBR Physio, we adopt a compassionate and personalised approach in the PINC Rehab & Exercise Program. Each session is carefully designed to gradually rebuild strength, restore mobility, and address pain or discomfort. Our physiotherapists guide you through gentle exercises, mindful movements, and rehabilitation techniques aimed at improving overall well-being, making the journey toward recovery as smooth and empowering as possible.

Initial Assessment

Your physio will discuss the areas that you’re finding challenging and create a individualised exercise program to address these.

Exercise and education

Your physio will provide guidance and advice on how to safely & effectively resume activity and maximise recovery.

3-month check-in

After three months, you’ll meet with your physiotherapist to check your progress, set new goals, and reassess how you’re feeling.

  • What is the PINC Program?

  • Who is eligible for the PINC Program?

    The program is designed for women who have been diagnosed with cancer, whether they are undergoing treatment, in recovery, or beyond. It’s suitable for those experiencing fatigue, pain, or reduced mobility as a result of cancer or its treatment. Small group sessions combine expert physiotherapy with tailored exercises, such as Pilates, to help you with targeted rehabilitation and fitness enhancement. Our physiotherapists work closely with you to ensure each movement is safe and beneficial, helping you progress efficiently towards your goals.

  • What can I expect in a PINC Program session?

    Each session is guided by a certified oncology physiotherapist and includes gentle exercises tailored to your needs. Sessions focus on rebuilding strength, improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing overall well-being.

  • How long is the PINC Program?

    You will need to attend an initial 1 hour assessment consultation so that the physio can take a comprehensive history in order to understand your conditon and set individual goals. 

    The classes run for one hour per week for 6 weeks and are specifically designed to support people during or after cancer treatment.

  • 5. Do I need a referral from my doctor to join the PINC Program?

    While a doctor’s referral isn’t required, it’s recommended to discuss your participation with your healthcare provider to ensure the program aligns with your overall treatment and recovery plan.
