OUR STORY

Our Legacy: From humble beginnings to community pillar

Pam Marshall started our practice in 1963, transforming a cosy back room in her house in East Bentleigh into a trusted clinic. Her dedication and warmth quickly attracted patients, and some of those early families still come to see us today. Though Pam passed away in 2004 after a long illness, her spirit continues to inspire everything we do.

At our practice, we hold firm to Pam's values, providing holistic and ethical care to every client. We believe in delivering personalised treatments that 'keep your body smiling.' Our client-centred approach ensures that our patients understand how we will help them achieve their health goals.

At EBR Physio, our mission is simple: making you feel fantastic. We’re all about holistic and ethical care, whether it’s for a sports injury, a spinal issue, or anything in between. We don’t just treat the problem—we get you back to doing what you love, from gardening to basketball. With deep roots in the community, we’re honoured to serve generations of families. Your health journey is our passion, and we’re excited to be part of it!

Michael Wynne, Principal Physiotherapist

Michael Wynne's journey with EBR Physio began in 1990 when he came to work a temporary six-week stint to assist his mum, Pam Marshall. However, what started as a short-term commitment turned into a lifelong passion, and he never left. In 1996 Michael became the principal of the practice.

Michael is highly qualified, staying current with the latest developments in physiotherapy through ongoing education, practice improvement strategies, and evidence-based approaches.

His expertise covers a wide range of conditions, including complex back and neck pain, knee injuries, sporting injuries, headaches, and TMJ (jaw pain). He also leads weekly hydrotherapy sessions, enhancing his holistic approach to patient care. One of the highlights of his career was working at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

Michael lives locally with his wife Miriam and their two children. Outside of work, he is an avid cyclist who enjoys walking and traveling.

On reflecting how physio has changed over the decades Michael says that "today the patient is much more involved in their own management and treatment through exercise and education compared to more passive treatment back in the 90s."

He continues to enjoy the face-to-face interactions of physio day to day and also sharing his fun facts!
