Hydrotherapy Classes

EBR Physio offers Hydrotherapy in Bentleigh East

Imagine stepping into a warm, soothing pool where the water gently supports your body, allowing you to move freely without the usual strain on your joints. This is the essence of hydrotherapy and aquatherapy, (also known as aquatic physiotherapy) a therapeutic approach that uses the properties of water to aid in rehabilitation.

How does hydrotherapy work?

We offer Hydrotherapy within a group setting. The exercise classes are personalised, making the classes as interesting and rewarding as possible.

Hydrotherapy is beneficial for many conditions, especially:

Hydrotherapy can help:

FAQs

These FAQs cover common questions and concerns you may have about hydrotherapy.

  • When are the hydrotherapy classes?

Currently we only run classes on Tuesdays from 4pm - 5pm.

If you are a current patient please speak to your physio about being added to the class.

  • Is hydrotherapy suitable for me?

Hydrotherapy has been around for centuries and is still widely used today by health professionals including physios. Exercise in water is especially beneficial for people that find exercising on land difficult or very painful.

    • When you stand in water up to your waist you are only taking 50 per cent of your body weight through your back and your legs.

    • In chest deep water you are only taking 30 per cent of your body weight.

Hydrotherapy offers many benefits;  it helps relax muscles, reduces stress and pain, and provides a safe way to stay active for those who find land-based exercise challenging. The warm water can be relaxing and even increase endorphins which are natural pain and stress relievers. Hydrotherapy is a gentle yet powerful way to support your recovery and overall well-being.

  • What should i wear?

Wear your bathers & thongs/slides to the pool. Also bring 2 x towels, one to dry with and one to stand on.

  • How do I join a class?
